Sustainable Fodder Development & Research

Recognising the critical role of fodder in livestock care, the Foundation promotes fodder security through research, field trials, and training. We support the development of high-yield, climate-resilient fodder varieties and promote improved cultivation and preservation practices among farming communities.

Women and Youth Empowerment & Livelihood

The Foundation actively promotes skill-building and entrepreneurship among rural women and youth to create sustainable livelihood opportunities. Initiatives include training in tailoring, incense-making, welding, electrical work, and specialised therapies like infant and mother massage, especially for tribal women, ensuring inclusive and equitable development.

Education – Environment, Agriculture & Animal Husbandry

We are developing a unique education model that combines academic learning with hands-on experience in environmental conservation, agriculture, and animal husbandry. Through experiential learning centres and school outreach programs, the initiative aims to connect young minds with nature, local biodiversity, and traditional livelihood systems.

Mr. Kishor Gajghate

Head – Outreach & Projects, BGM Foundation

Mr. Kishor Gajghate is a seasoned social development leader with over 19 years of experience in designing and managing impactful programs, developing strategic partnerships, and driving community engagement. In his role as Head of Outreach & Projects at BGM Foundation, he leads initiatives across rural and tribal regions of Maharashtra, India, with a focus on sustainable livelihoods, animal welfare, Education and biodiversity conservation.

An alumnus of the internationally respected Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, Mr. Gajghate earned his Master's degree in Social Work, specialising in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work. His approach to development is rooted in a deep commitment to equity and inclusion, with a strong belief in building scalable models that are sensitive to local socio-cultural contexts while aligned with global best practices.
At BGM Foundation, Mr. Gajghate oversees programs that bridge the gap between policy and practice, integrating traditional knowledge with modern development strategies. Under his leadership, the Foundation has strengthened its collaboration with government agencies, CSR partners, and grassroots organisations, ensuring long-term impact and replicability of its community-driven interventions.

Mr. Gajghate's career spans diverse sectors and geographies. As a founding team member of landmark programs/organisations such as the JSW Foundation Fellowship, the Raintree Foundation, and several State Livelihood Missions, he has been instrumental in shaping holistic development frameworks across India. His work has addressed a broad spectrum of issues, including environmental sustainability, mental health, watershed management, gender equity, and waste management.

He has led collaborative projects in partnership with national and international organisations such as the JSW Foundation, ICICI Foundation (IFIG), UNDP, WOTR, BNHS, and various government bodies and NGOs. His ability to develop strong networks has connected over 50 grassroots organisations across India, promoting knowledge exchange and joint implementation. His consulting work through SoulAce, New Delhi, has supported CSR initiatives for leading corporates like GAIL, Cadbury India, and Tata Housing, focusing on needs assessments, baseline studies, and livelihood planning.

In addition to his development work, Mr. Gajghate is also a visiting faculty member at Bharati Vidyapeeth in Pune, where he teaches Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to postgraduate students, contributing to the next generation of social impact professionals.
Known for his empathetic leadership and forward-thinking approach, Mr. Gajghate plays a pivotal role in advancing BGM Foundation's mission to create opportunity, restore dignity, and build resilient, sustainable communities. His work continues to inspire change across sectors and geographies, both within India and beyond.

Mr. Bipin Gemani

Chief Operating Officer – BGM Foundation

Mr. Bipin Gimani serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the BGM Foundation, bringing a wealth of experience in operational leadership and organizational management. In his role, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the foundation, ensuring that its programs and initiatives align with the organization's mission and strategic goals.​

With a strong leadership background in the Finance and Banking industry, Mr. Gimani has been instrumental in streamlining processes, enhancing program efficiency, and fostering partnerships that advance the foundation's objectives. His leadership has contributed to the successful implementation of various projects focused on animal welfare, sustainable development, and community engagement across Maharashtra.​

Col (Dr) K N Yadav

Chief Executive Officer – BGM Foundation- Betegaon Gowshala and Farms.

Col (Dr) Yadav is a distinguished leader with a rich background in both military service and agricultural and animal management. As the CEO of Cattle Holding Farm for Indian Cows, more predominantly 'Gir cattle' and the fodder growing farm for more than a decade under the BGM Foundation; he brings a strategic vision and scientific based disciplined approach to sustainable farming and modern animal husbandry practices with cow comfort.

He is a highly respected veterinary professional with a postgraduate degree in Animal Breeding and Genetics, a National Diplomate from IVRI, and member of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (India). He has served as an Assistant Professor/Dairy Cattle Breeder, and also Instructor at the RVC Centre and College, with a notable tenure in the Indian Army and DRDO, worked in extreme high-altitude conditions, handled various research projects on Equines, Bovines, Double Hump Camel, Poultry as well as Rural Development and Forestry. During his DRDO tenure in the institute received Indira Gandhi Priyadarshani Vruksha Mitra Award of Ministry of Forest & Environment, GOI.

A pioneer in India's first Embryo Transfer trials in Yak in the Ladakh region (1995–96), he has also contributed to high-altitude adaptability research. He co-authored a textbook on Equines and Equestrian Sports in India, and was Member Secretary of the Study Group on Military Dairy Farms, whose recommendations were adopted by the Government of India.

Currently, Col Yadav continues his expert's hands-on work in breeding and advanced genetics of Indian cattle, particularly Gir cows, at one of India's most modern automated breeding facilities. Under his guidance, the farm has successfully produced over 55 IVF and ET purebred genetically superior Gir calves, contributing significantly to the conservation and genetic advancement of indigenous breeds in the country.

With extensive experience in animal husbandry and fodder management, Col. Dr. Yadav has been instrumental in transforming Betegaon Farm into a model for sustainable agriculture and community engagement. His leadership focuses on integrating traditional farming methods with modern technologies to enhance productivity and environmental stewardship.
