Ongoing Projects
Heritage Archival
As a tribute to its rich legacy, the farm is restoring the first-ever cattle shed built on its grounds and converting it into a dedicated Heritage Archival Centre. This space will serve as a living museum, chronicling the evolution of the farm from its humble beginnings to its present-day role as a model of sustainable cattle rearing. Through photographs, traditional tools, documents, and oral histories, the archive will preserve the cultural and historical context of indigenous farming and livestock management. Open to the public, it will also function as an educational and cultural resource for students, researchers, and local residents.
Bull Pens – Semen Preservation & Genetics Research
A specialised, secure facility is being developed to house healthy indigenous and hybrid bulls to support a long-term vision for cryogenic semen preservation, breed enhancement, and genetic research. This centre will play a key role in artificial insemination programs, enabling the Mandali to extend its efforts in preserving and improving native cattle lines, such as the Gir breed. It will also collaborate with veterinary and research institutions to advance scientific knowledge in livestock genetics, reproductive health, and breed conservation.

Use Of Solar Energy On The Farm
The farm has embraced renewable energy by installing solar panels across key operational zones, including cattle sheds, service buildings, and water infrastructure. These panels power lighting systems, water pumps, fans, and other essential equipment, thereby significantly reducing dependence on conventional grid electricity. This transition to clean energy not only lowers the farm’s carbon footprint but also enhances energy security and cost-efficiency. More importantly, it serves as a replicable model for other rural agricultural setups, promoting sustainable development through decentralised, environmentally friendly energy use.
Children’s Experience Centre- Farm Learning Through Play
To build awareness from a young age, a Children’s Experience Centre will offer an interactive and immersive farm-based learning environment. Designed to be both educational and engaging, the space will include hands-on activities such as feeding animals, basic gardening, storytelling sessions about farm life, and virtual exhibits that explain the farm-to-table journey. The centre aims to foster a deeper connection with nature, food systems, animal care, and sustainable farming, sparking curiosity and empathy among children in a playful, experiential setting.

Grassland Research Institute – Fodder Innovation & Training
The proposed Grassland Research Institute will function as a centre of excellence dedicated to sustainable grassland and fodder development. Its primary focus will be on native fodder species, improved cultivation techniques, and rotational grazing systems that enhance soil health and biodiversity. Through on-field demonstrations, workshops, and farmer training sessions, the institute will share best practices with local communities and agricultural professionals. It will also engage in collaborative research with universities and policy-makers to support fodder security and ecological sustainability at a regional scale.
HYDROPONIC GRASS GROWING FACILITY
Plans are underway to establish a 960 sq. m. hydroponic grass cultivation facility to enhance the production of highly nutritious, pesticide-free fodder, specifically for calves and pregnant cows. This controlled-environment system will ensure year-round availability of fresh green fodder, leading to improved animal health, milk quality, and overall productivity.
Conservation Of Indian Cows
Conservation Of Indian Cows
The farm will conserve several Indian cow breeds that are on the verge of extinction, such as Punganur and Vechur. Additionally, important dairy breeds like Red Sindhi, Tharparkar, and Sahiwal will also be preserved. Other breeds, including Kathiawadi from Kutch and Khillari and Gaolao from the Maharashtra/Vidarbha region, will be part of conservation efforts through advanced reproductive technologies.

Farmer’s Training & Skilling Centre – Local Capacity Building
A dedicated training centre will be established to empower farmers, youth, and women by equipping them with practical knowledge and hands-on skills in animal husbandry, organic farming, and sustainable agricultural practices. By focusing on practical learning and real-world application, the initiative aims to build local capacity, improve productivity, and create new opportunities for self-reliance and economic growth within the community.
Community Sports Complex – Recreation And Engagement
Development of a shared space that will house a variety of sports and recreational facilities, designed to promote youth participation, physical wellness, and stronger community ties. This initiative aims to formalise and expand the use of a piece of land that community members, especially the youth, have already been using informally for games and gatherings. By transforming it into a well-equipped recreational facility, the project will provide a safe, inclusive, and vibrant environment where residents can regularly engage in physical activities, participate in organised events, and build lasting social connections.

Veterinary Clinic & Mobile Veterinary Services
A state-of-the-art on-site veterinary clinic will provide prompt care, routine check-ups, and preventive treatments to ensure herd health and productivity. Equipped with specialized gynaecological, maternity, IVF, and embryo transfer services, the facility will support genetic improvement and breed conservation. Additionally, a Veterinary Van service extends animal healthcare to nearby rural communities, benefiting local farmers and livestock.
