Shiksha ki Potli
To support the educational journey of tribal children in underserved areas, BGM Foundation introduced “Shiksha ki Potli,” a school kit distribution project aimed at restoring dignity and motivation among young learners. The initiative addressed a fundamental gap—many children were attending school without basic materials such as bags, stationery, and lunchboxes.
Through this project, 1,000 school kits were distributed to students from Grades 1 to 7 across 15 tribal schools in Palghar. The distribution process was complemented by hygiene awareness sessions for both children and parents, fostering better personal care practices and improved attendance.
Feedback from schoolteachers highlighted a notable improvement in students’ morale and attendance post-distribution. Parents expressed increased motivation to send their children to school regularly. The project also initiated the tracking of dropout cases with teacher cooperation, aiming to strengthen enrolment continuity.
Moving forward, BGM Foundation seeks to expand the initiative annually through partnerships with CSR donors and local education authorities. Integration with digital literacy tools, community tutoring sessions, and child rights awareness campaigns are also being explored to maximise long-term impact.
